Umbra Noctis - Tavern/Club RP

She hands him a bowl of hot soapy water and a good towel. "There you go. That'll shift blood better than cold water."

"I suppose..."
As he is taking the bowl, he cannot help but release a grunt.
"... Hum... I suppose I could find some aid from this myself... I'm not as tough as I hoped I could be."

"You're the guy who got stabbed, right?" She takes the towel from him.

He looks ashamed because of his lies.
"... Yes, those guys did hit me too. It's nothing more than a superficial wound, but it is a wound nonetheless. I should have mentionned this, but this wasn't the most important."
He tries to get his eyes with Phoenix's, but he is unable to raise his head.
"... If something would happen to me and my friend while we're here, could you... take care of Jeffen until he gets better?"

"Before I say yes, can I remind you that I read minds. Please don't lie, as forcing the truth out of someone isn't pleasant, and I don't like to do it.

However, I would. Now, let's see to your wound. You should have brought it up before the blackbird went out, he's the only person here who I know is a capable medic." She peels off his shirt, and dumps it on the floor.

As he said, the wound isn't deep or badly located. Actually, there are many scars hidden beneath the clothes, mostly cuts.
"I do not plan to hide anything to you or anyone else that is not confidential for security purpose."
Grabbing a chair, kryl then process to sit down while not ampering Phoenix as she look over at him.
"If you have questions, I will answer these the best I can do."

"Who are you lot, and what happened to you all?"

She soaks the towel and washes the blood off of him.

"Let me start by giving my full name. I am Kryl Ferigal, squad commander in the Steppenwolves mercenaries. Me and Chuck received order to escort this young boy, Jeffen, for an indetermined period of time."
He helps removing the blood from his wound as he talks.
"We were travelling when we were ambushed. We quickly dispatched these men, but I couldn't defend him as we were outnumbered and took by surprise."

All of this is true, altrough not entering into much details.

She, however, is very good at picking up the words that don't want to be heard.

"Mercs? What's so important about him?"

She continues to clean his wounds.

"Well, the rules clearly state that revealing this piece of information, or even letting you know by reading my mind, would mean I have to kill you. But I suppose you have guessed he is more important than me... Ow. A little more to the right, please. Even him doesn't know why he is so important, so whatever you do, please, do not tell him anything..."

She sighs and moves where he wants. "Ok, then. But if your rules cover something which endangers us by all of you being here, I suggest that this once, you bend the rules a bit."

"Hmm... That's better."
He takes some time to ponder what he can say.
"... I suppose you also guessed the attack was aimed specifically at us, right? Then yes, you can expect another one someday, but only if they know where to aim... I was thinking about hiding here, as no one would expect us to stay near the place we were attacked, so by staying here, we are avoiding you all the trouble; as long as we avoid revealing who we are to every newcomer here, that is."
He gets up, his wound being now cleaned.
"Do not worry, we will be leaving as soon as we're sure they lost tracks of us. And if we cause any troubles, we will assume our responsabilities."

"I have a funny feeling that if problems are started, the fire guy who dealt with your charge, the vamp, the hunter. and either me or the blackbird will annhilate anyone who starts."

She chuckles. "We'll be safe, at least. Watch out for assassins, though."

"You better have to leave some of the troublemakers to Chuck, as he is not giving up a good fight too."
He bows to her.
"Now if you excuse me, I have someone to watch over. Thanks for everything."

She smiles. "Dinner will be ready soon. Don't go far."

Sorano turned to answer Maybelle's question. "Yeah, partially because I do have to help Telu and Phoenix get dinner served, and it will be a while before the moon is able to properly light the places I want to show you," she replied, smiling.

Back at the forest spring, Kat thought a bit about Hawk's addition of the dams into her analogy. "Heh heh. But if you think about it, even dams are not permanent. Enough water with enough force can shatter a dam. It's like trying to restrain and train a vampire. We are predators. We never lose that basic instinct, and when it comes down with enough force behind it, well... The rest is history and so is the mortal who tried to enslave the immortal," she replied, grinning. At the question of flight, she looked up towards the sky and then towards a rock outcropping that extended over the pool of water. She leaped towards it, landing in the middle of the rock and walking to sit down on the edge overlooking the water.

"That's all that's left of natural flight in my clan. Superhuman jumping ability." She leaned back on her palms, holding her gaze towards the sky. After a while, she would ask him a question. "So tell me. Earlier you had offered yourself to slake my thirst. I must ask you. Why? And in addition, what would you ask for in return should I accept your offer?" Acheron's eyes reflected the available light, the greenish glow of her pupils standing out like sparks in her face.

Meanwhile, Eizo had accepted the glass from the medium and drank half of the water. "I would hope so. I hate experiencing fear more than I hate admitting it," she said in response to Greg's apologizing. It was obvious that the huntress was put off her game. She heaved a sigh, pocketing her calculator.

He listened to her explanation, and watched her jump, laughing. "You should feel true flight. It's... Special. One thing I wish never to lose."

He sat and listened, eyes picking out all sorts of detail in the scenery that others would never spot, until she asked him the question. His fight or flight was already kicking in, but he reined it back, seeing as she wasn't actually demanding a feed.

"Why? One live body who is prepared to lie about his injuries is better for staying hidden than many drained of every last drop. I wish to keep the... nature of those in the inn fairly hidden from those who may be... seeking out pockets of weird, shall we say. Leaving the local populace unharmed prevents... Pitchforks." At what, he paused, thinking.

"What is hard. Mostly I think I would demand the wish not to be bled dry, not to be turned, that you ask before you take and do so to my face and gently, and that you don't bother anyone else for blood while you're here. See why, for the reason for that one. I don't know what you would offer back, but those terms would make me... More relaxed to the idea. Although I'm still offering blood bags first. Unless there is a reason that they're no good to you?"



"I'm sorry, I've intruded more than I should have..." Greg looked at her. "Shall I go?"

"I would imagine so. I envy my little friends, the bats, for that reason. I would like to experience it one day. Why I haven't yet, I'll never know," Katarina chuckled. She could almost feel his instinctive reaction to her questions; it caused her to smirk a little. "Pitchforks," she muttered, breaking into laughter. "Now that's something I haven't seen used against anything like any of us since the Dark Ages. I would find it extremely amusing to see the locals try that against me," she said, while he was thinking about the 'what' she had posed.

"Your wish to retain your life is not the first, nor is it the most surprising. Neither is the desire to keep your mortality. The request to be asked before I proceed is one I hear a little less commonly, but not rarely. The martyrdom is relatively new; I see more and more offer in order to save those they care about. As to any reasons harvested blood might not be any good to me, there are none, really. None that don't hinge on my personal preference," she replied, taking his points and responding to each. "As to my return offer, I usually permit questions about my person or my clan, answered in a straightforward manner without my reliving a past memory. And one more question: How many blood bags did you say you had on you?"

At the inn, Eizo had drained her glass of water. She shrugged in response to Greg's query of whether or not he should leave her alone. "Either way, I'm not going to lash out. I'm a little too preoccupied. You can stay there, or you can move elsewhere. I'm going to end up heading back upstairs, anyway," she replied nonchalantly.

"It's a pity I can't show you. Being carried is never quite the same as actually flying yourself."

He listened to her responses, and halted her for one of them. "You can't be a martyr without dying.

I'll remember about the questions. And as for the blood bag... I have one, 'O', universal donor. I'd prefer to keep that if possible, as my own is type "Don't even try it, buddy.". I'm a proficient medic, and unfortunately I have about as much trouble getting a blood bag as you would. So, it's rather precious to me. My own is equally as precious, but... That is regenerated, and presuming you stick to what I've asked...

Truthfully, I'm indecisive about it, but if you need it now, I'm hosed as it's at the inn, in the medic pack."


Greg looked at Eizo. "It's best you knew. I apologise for this, please don't hold it against me. The doctor I killed... He just looked at me and told me that there weren't enough, that he would have to hunt more down and kill them.

You at least don't wish them to be there."

Maybelle, to herself: "Well, I think Telu might be free by now... I should ask him about my job application!"
And the young girl to start looking for the man.


Chuck is back, even dirtier than before. He is holding an axe, the brutal, two handed but still stylised kind, which is by the way soaking in blood. The ogre isn't even paying attention to the mess he is causing. He is currently wanderind in the hall.

Phoenix headed out to see if anyone needed serving. And her jaw dropped. "Excuse me. Is there any reason you're dripping blood everywhere? And is it going to end in a cremation?"

The ogre turns to answer Phoenix.
"What... ? Oh, this? Well, I'm not the one leaving the blood tray, only the muddy one."
He then turns to his axe.
"Do you hear her, Orage? bloodbath are messy! You should let me clean you, now..."
As he speaks, Phoenix can see the axe's head is shaped as an female elven face, a beauty to boot. But that's not all. When the creature tries to remove some blood with his clothes, an electric impulse hit him!
"Owwch! Ok, ok, later... but do not complain if she makes you clean the mess!"

Phoenix frowns unhappily.

"Weapons are meant to be handed in, even intelligent ones, and if you don't clean up and act civil, I'll enforce it myself, rather than let it slide."

Kat laughed silently. There were a few times she wished she could fly, but she was quite content with her current skillset and wasn't about to change. Besides, she had pilots in her debt, so actually using flight for transportation was of little concern. "True. Perhaps a better word choice would have been 'self-sacrificial'. Though really, neither of them have less of a morbid tone than the other does.

"Permit me to say that the process is not as frightening as it can be made out to be. It can be gentle and careful, if that is the wish of a volunteer," she said, looking down at Hawk from her rocky perch and resting her elbow on her thigh. She then jumped down to stand on level ground with the blackbird. Her urges were starting to kick up, as she hadn't fed in a day and a half or so. Holding her gaze on his eyes, she exuded a calm air as she posed her question. "Would you be willing to share your lifeblood tonight?" There really was no easy way to ask it, but Kat put it as easily as she was able.

Back at the inn, Eizo sighed, then tapped the headset she was still wearing. A few moments later, she stood and turned to Greg. "Don't worry about it. I have to head off. Consider yourself forgiven, and I'll be taking my leave of this place. Urgent business, new contractor. I'm out," she said, turning on her heel to go upstairs and grab her affects. She would leave the inn with a wave, and disappear out the door.

Telu, having gotten a few appetizers ready, took them out of the kitchen and placed them on the counter. She barely caught sight of the blood on the floor, but was not so easily able to miss the ogre. Her feathers drooped a bit as her eyes travel to the mess around him, but she merely shook her head to fluff back up, and said nothing. Phoenix seemed to already have it under control. If Maybelle were to approach Telu, this would be a perfect opportunity.

Sorano, flinching at the mess, quickly went into the supply closet just off the coat check closet and grabbed a mop and bucket. The crackle of magic was obvious to her as she looked at the axe before going into the kitchen to fill the bucket with water and grab a detergent to clean the mud and blood up with.

He nodded, thinking about her first response, which made sense, until her statement and the following approach and question, which caused his feathers to fluff rather considerably, and for a second, he was turning to run, before the intelligent Hawk overrode the instinctive hawk in his hindbrain, and forced himself to turn back to her.

"I-I would very much wish for it to be so...

A-and..." He looked back into her eyes, though his look was distant, weighing out options and reasons and using logic to override what would be a very panicky situation for him.

Eventually, he returned to his body, so to speak and drew his knives magnetically, as well as taking out a holdout pistol. He looked at it and at her for second, as if still deciding, and then handed both gun and knives to her, then handing her the small silver implant normally embedded in the side of his head.

"I have no more physical defenses. No nanites running." He slowly takes a breath, and letting it out, let his hands drop to his sides, but didn't close his eyes. "I trust you with my life."

"Well, bye..." Greg waved after her, and idly wondered what mission she was going on.

Phoenix gently laid a hand on Sorano's shoulder as she moved to mop uo the blood.
"If the axe didn't have the sense to clean itself on the grass outside, you don't have any reason to clean up her mess."
